Doctor's orders

We went to Shannon and Mike's on Sunday for a Memorial Day cookout. Weather was perfect, food was fantastic, and had a great time playing washers, golf, and "big ball" with Jaden! Jaden was very entertaining as you are about to hear and see. I am sure most of you will recognize this favorite kid's song after a few seconds.

However, I do have a little disclaimer: This video is proof that I am not a videographer, and normally I would just trash this video since I cant flip it right side up.......but.......it is just too darn cute!! So I am chalking this up to a lesson in videoing.....NEVER turn the camera sideways for the full body shot, you can't rotate a video like you can rotate a picture.

So, sit back.....on second thought.....lay your head down on your desk and enjoy!!!

You have to watch it again and pay close attention to the hand movements.

Now as you watch it a third time....I know you already have.....can you pick out all the words?

Here's a translation:

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed.

One fell off and bumped his head.

Mom called the doctor,

The doctor said, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

It's My Week!

That's right, of the 52 weeks, this one is mine!

Everyone knows Max has his "Maxmas Day". Recently Shane informed me, "September is my month!" (he is having a tough time adjusting to the fact he will have to share his month with a new niece!) So what the heck, I thought, I am gonna take one of the weeks and call it MINE!

Sunday was an absolutely wonderful Mother's Day! The kids came to our house for dinner. Shannon and I did the Kabob thing.....yummmmm!
Jaden (and Shannon and Mike) gave me the cutest book....a photo book of her this past year. Amazing to see how much she has changed. And Shane, I can't wait to go shopping...Thanks!!

After Jaden's nap, we all went to the park. Does it get any better than watching a 2 year old run from one thing to another? Or a 25 year old being a kid!?! Check out Shannon's blog for more pictures!

Also on Sunday we did a little pre-birthday celebration. "Thanks for the Slice cartridge Shannon and Mike. And Jaden....LOVE the stepping stone you made me!!" No doubt about it, Jaden is gonna be an artist, Shannon and I are making sure of that!

OH....back up a few posts, Easter post to be exact, I mentioned an early birthday present. This is so cool:

Thanks, Shannon and Mike for the decal. After getting this decal I have noticed how many people are using their vehicles for advertising! Look around....you'll see businesses, likes and dislikes, family members, thoughts and ideas. Decals are the new bumper stickers!!

"It's My Week" continued with a little celebration yesterday. It was my 48th birthday. The girls that work for me both needed yesterday off so I had planned to "play" at the studio all day. (I can't call it work because it's too much fun!) But Kristen insisted on working a few hours. "Thanks, Kristen!" Max and I went to Flat Top Grill for lunch and then he "insisted" we go to Michael's to see what's new in scrapbooking! "Thanks for twisting my arm, Max, and thanks for the great birthday present. I finally can trash the dinosaur computer monitor and sit back and enjoy a wider cyberworld!

The week continues....tonight I am going out to dinner with Mike, Shannon, and Jaden. Maybe I can talk Jaden into a frozen yogurt treat after dinner!

One last, but not least, "Thank you" goes to Mom and Dad for the Slice cartridge. It was fun kicking off my week on Saturday with a 12 hour scrap-a-thon with Mom, Cindy, and a whole bunch of Scrap-a-holics!

So it's been a GREAT week! Between parties I have spent a lot of time in my "apartment" scrapbooking! Leesa, I will do my best to keep the hanging basket flowering!

Thanks everyone for the Birthday wishes....you've made my week special!

Cobwebs & Dust Bunnies!

BUSY....BUSY...BUSY

But I am back to dust the cobwebs and play with the Dust Bunnies!

Quick April update through pictures:

We started our Clay Building Classes this month. I am LOVING the new way to "Create It at Bisque It!!!"

We celebrated Grandma Teders's birthday with a couple of Max's brothers and families.

And of course there have been many "Miss J Moments" to catch you up on!

She LOVES Ellie Mae and was so excited to get to take her for a walk. Ellie Mae was so good, she just walked along...around and around and around...

Jaden has become a pro with handprints! She sees so many kids doing their handprints at the studio, and she has had more than her share of prints made. This is her "2 year print" to add to our collection!

This is one of her new toys at the studio. She has learned to build her little city! she can play all day with this. One piece is a mirror wall, explains the second picture!

I do have one more picture to share, but I am gonna save it. Shannon and Mike gave me an early Birthday present....It is the coolest....but I will save it for my "Birthday Post"! (Shannon, you can't show 'n tell it, and gonna keep the rest of you in suspense!)
I will finish with a reading....Jaden's story of Scooby Doo! (Be sure to turn up your volume and click the play for this video!)

Miss J Monday

Jaden has been having so much fun lately at Bisque It that she has not had time to do her "Miss J Monday."
As soon as we had a nice SPRING day we grabbed the sidewalk chalk and headed out back! (Obviously it wasn't today....snow in April????)

"I had fun drawing pictures with Maw!!"

During Spring Break Jaden had fun painting with her cousins, Ava and Jack. If I knew how to determine first, second, third, once, twice, thrice removed, etc., then I could tell you their exact relationship, but I think we will leave it at cousins! (Ava and Jack's mom is my first cousin if someone wants to figure out their relationship.)

During their "paint date" we ordered Pizza and had some play time too! As you can see Jack was not gonna be any part of "ballerina dancing".

"I had fun playing with Ava and Jack! Thanks for teaching me how to be a ballerina, Ava! Jack, you painted a neat bluegill, thanks for letting me add the blood! Maybe we can plan a day at the zoo for our next play date!"

A Gift Made Just for YOU!!!

Shannon has "stolen" this crafty idea she found while "blog stalking". And I just couldn't resist joining in. This should be fun for everyone.

Here is the contest:
The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make for you! But I hope you will...
2. What I create will be just for you. Or maybe a member of your family if you'd rather.
3. Give me a few days, weeks, or months to finish. I promise it will be done in the year 2009.
4. If you are long-distance, I'll probably send via cheapest shipping.

The catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people to comment. (I am going to add my own rule here: if you don't blog, you can post this on your Facebook as long as you add me as a friend.)

How fun! I'm anxious to see who my first five are :o)
Ok, ready... set... GO!

Blessed are those who go in circles......

.....for they shall be known as WHEELS!

It has been crazy busy for me throughout the month of March! A good crazy though. We have been very busy at the studio with our regular pottery painting.
And then add to that.......
Our New Addition!!

From the day I opened the studio my plan was to bring a wheel into the studio at some point. Well 4 years down the road, we have it! Kristen will be giving lessons and we will also be renting wheel time. Right now we are "playing" and getting the space set for it. This includes shifting everything down that is "hung" on the wall. One bit of advice here: Do NOT put sticky velcro on your wall!
And speaking of busy.....time for me to get to work.....just had to drop in a few pictures to show what has kept me away from blogdom for so long!
