Flashback Friday!

Ready to jump in the time machine.....going back a couple decades!

I finally found time to playing with a new toy I got for Christmas.

And I can tell right now I am going to have endless hours of fun with this little contraption!

Max got me a film and slide digital converter. This converts 35mm slides and negative to digital files! I have boxes of negatives....and I do have many of the pictures developed. But what better way to keep memories than digital!
I just grabbed a couple of envelopes of negs to try out this toy. Here are a few pictures I found!
I haven't figured out what year they were taken. Hairstyles say 80's, what else do the styles say? I am gonna leave that up to you! ;)

These first two pictures were taken at King's Island. Talk about style! wow!
As if the hat and glasses weren't enough....check out this next picture....it has FASHION written all over it!!

As you can see it was taken in Las Vegas.....again, not sure what year, but one thing is for sure it was quite a few pounds ago!! ;)

Oh, and notice the fanny pack again! And try to look past the "under-the-bust" pants! hehehe

Well I hope you all enjoy the little walk down memory lane....and if you laughed at the styles it only means you have pictures like these at home too.

Signs of Spring

As I look outside and see MOUNDS of snow it is really hard to think about Spring. We have had snow on the ground since December 2nd! I know, it's winter, but usually we get a glimpse of the grass between snow storms. the only grass I have seen in the last 2 months is the path of grass we shovel to get to the garage. (I know, you are saying why don't you have a sidewalk? that's another story for another day.)

Enough winter! Be done with it! I want Spring!!! Anyone else with me on this???

So I am gonna try really hard to look for ANY signs of Spring!

1. The days are getting longer! Have you noticed it's still light at 6pm?
2. I wore gym shoes to work today. Gym shoes in spring are like flip flops for summer.
3. I saw a Robin! you can see a robin too....google images.
4. I started planning for the Home & Garden show. Have you seen the commercials....you will see Shannon and me at our booth! (Want a ticket to the show, let me know, I have a few extra tickets.)
5. I ordered a new line of bisque Flower Pots.

I am sure there are other signs out there.....I am gonna keep my eyes wide open.

What signs of Spring do you see....or what signs are you looking for?

If we all come together and "Think Spring" maybe we can help Punxsutawney Phil predict an early Spring!!!

(Sidenote: Be sure to vote on my poll.)

The Week in Review and Preview

REVIEW
Looks like Jaden missed another "Miss J Monday" posting. She spent Monday at home because Shannon had MLK day off. She must have missed me, because she was a pistol for Shannon.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr.........that doesn't even begin to tell how cold it was about a week and a half ago. Wind chills were 25 below and temperatures never made it above 0 a couple of days! A week ago Thursday night Jaden spent the night with us so that neither one of us had to go out in the cold on Friday morning. I taught Jaden how to have a "PJ Day"!

Last weekend was our monthly "Scrappin the Night Away!" As always, we had a lot of fun, and everyone was very productive and creative. I did 10 pages....personal record accomplished!

The rest of the week was pretty much uneventful....I had a dentist appointment. Hey Sarah and Marissa, I didn't have any "sugar bugs", but I also didn't get the cool sunglasses.

Things are starting to pick up again at the studio, a party here and there. I think people are getting cabin fever and need to get out and do something! Painting pottery sure beats being outside in the cold!

PREVIEW
Shane has three interviews this week! Good Luck, Shane-o! If he got paid for every application and resume he sent out he would be swimming in green!!

On Tuesday my grandniece and grandnephew will be coming to visit. They live in Michigan City but make a quarterly visit to Fort Wayne for their doctor's appointment. They both have Cystic Fibrosis, and their specialist is at Lutheran Hospital. I am hoping they are well and the winter cold hasn't got them down. They actually look forward to their doctor visits now that they get to paint pottery after their check up!

Tuesday evening Leesa and I are meeting for a little shopping and dinner. She has an Archiver's gift certificate burning a hole in her pocket and I wouldn't be a friend if I didn't go help her spend it!

Also this week I need to work in some "Mr. Fix-Its":
1. Kitchen sink faucet is leaking....as in spraying out the side of it. Right now ShamWow is wrapped around it.
2. My car is sounding a bit ill....with my mechanical skills I am gonna guess it is the power steering something or another.
3. Calling on the Maytag Man....washer is also leaking. Sure glad we got the bonus pack of Sham Wows!
4. Do fix.....as in hairdo! I am over"do" for a cut!

I guess that is about all the excitement I can take for one week.

Stay warm everyone.....and THINK SPRING!!!!

Miss J Monday

Finally I am back and have some time to do my weekly blog.

I spent Saturday night with Gramma and Grampa...we had a lot of fun! The best part was when I found an "Arthur" book on Gramma J's bookshelf! You can see how much I enjoyed it! I love to find a hideaway to enjoy my books.

(Note from Gramma J: I saw this Kodak moment and ran for my camera. Grampa Max was watching football, and as you will hear, a loud commercial came on. But disregard the not-so-subliminal Subway message, and enjoy a reading by Miss J.)

Gramma Ina is in Florida now so I am going to be spending my Fridays with Gramma J. It will be fun because I am going to her house. I like it at the studio, but at Gramma's house I can play with Lucy and scrapbook with Gramma. She has a table just for me in her computer/scrap room! Here is a picture of me coloring a picture at my little table. I sure hope Gramma puts this in my scrapbook!

All play and no work....

...makes for a great PJ DAY!!!

Yep, that's right, I spent the entire day in my pajamas! Actually two pair of pajamas, changed into clean ones when I took my shower midday!

This morning I spent a couple of hours futzing around with my scrapbooking. After cleaning, organizing, and straightening up the area, I started putting together pages so that I am ready for the next "Scrappin the Night Away". Watch out girls, I am gonna set a personal record for pages completed in one setting! (Notice I said personal record).

I did manage to get in a little bit of work today....Max took down the outside lights and then started taking down the Christmas tree. My first thought was, "well he put them up, only right that he put away what he got out!" But I felt guilty so I did stop playing for a bit and helped by taking the stockings off the mantle. (yes, Shannon, I even boxed up the stocking hangers this year!)

After lunch I did some multi-tasking. I sorted and labeled pictures while we watched a movie. (Who said multi-tasking had to be work?) Max and I watched August Rush; great feel-good movie.

After that much playing in one day, I decided I better get my shower. We had a light supper, baked sweet potato and smoked turkey sausage and then it was back to the sofa for another movie. We watched I am Legend, starring Will Smith. It was different, a bit odd, but good. Sci-Fi is not my favorite, but this was just at the edge of believable that I could watch it.

Wow....where did the day go...proves that time flies when you're having fun.

I guess the next order of business is coming up with my New Year's Resolutions. I will definitely put that on my to-do list. Only trouble is, I misplace my "round tuit" all the time!

Happy New Year to everyone, and if you only make one resolution this year....resolve to have FUN!

Happy New Year....and A Very Merry Christmas!

First things first.....Another Christmas to remember....and I always make sure it is remembered by taking tons of pictures!

We started off Christmas morning by going to Fort Wayne to watch Jaden open her presents from Santa! She was really excited, but a bit overwhelmed too!!

Jaden and I found a bit of time to play with one of the gifts Santa brought her! And of course the books were one of her favorite presents!

After the morning with Jaden it was back to our house to have Christmas with the kids!

Jaden painted an ornament for everyone....Ashley and Shane are admiring her artistic talent!

And Jaden was just as pleased with one of the gift that Uncle Shane and Ashley got her! A giant MagnaDoodle.....FUN!!!! (well giant size to her since the one she has is pocket size.)After a light lunch and Jaden's nap, we headed to mom and dad's for another Christmas celebration!
Look what Gramma Pat and Grampa Wayne got for Miss J:

Of course George was the first to get a ride!!! By Spring she will be able to reach both pedals and zipping up and down the sidewalk!

That is a quick glimpse at our Christmas Day. Add to that a Ridenour Christmas, Bartels Christmas, and Teders Christmas over the past 3 weeks and that should explain why I haven't had time to blog.

And if that wasn't enough to keep me busy....I had record sales at the studio for November and December!! :) Jaden has also been very busy at the studios on Mondays getting her Christmas presents painted! She couldn't do her Miss J Mondays because that would have given away the surprises!
And because she was such a giving person making so many gifts at home (she painted a wooden picture frame for us!) and at the studio, we fit in a day of painting just for fun. As you can see George looked on as she paint a replica of him! It is all business when she paints!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Holiday too!!

Happy New Year......2009.......Enjoy!!!
